Before Jojo became a statistic, he sent his cousin Devereaux Peters a message on Facebook.
“I am so proud of you,” he told her as she embarked on her second season with the Minnesota Lynx in 2013. She appreciated it then; months and years later, she would come to cherish it. Jojo, Dev and all of their cousins were more like siblings — always teasing each other, always talking smack, always from a place of love.
